Minihost Modular is a modular environment for hosting/interconnecting VST/AU plugins based on a custom modular engine especially developed for this purpose. As a standalone, Minihost Modular can be used as an advanced VST or AU host with modular routing with some sequencing recording/playback capabilities. As a VST or AU plugin, Minihost Modular can be used to extend the capabilities of.

VST2 does not send bendable pitch midi messages. You will need to use plugins that are VST3 (which not many are) to bend pitch after a note has been pressed.
Eventually VST3 will become the standard, so I'm sure pitch bend will be available for them sometime in the future. One more thing, but this I'm not sure about. You may need a midi keyboard that is aftertouch compatible. Aftertouch lets you modulate midi messages after a key has been pressed. The reason I'm not sure is because I don't know if the pitch wheel is considered an aftertouch parameter. It may be separate altogether.:). Image-Line are releasing a new modular host environment in which you can add multiple VST/AU plugins to create one chain.
Each plugin gets its own piano roll, and can also be automated internally. The host itself will be VST/AU, 32/64-bit, and both Windows/Mac compatible, so you will be able to use it in most daws, as well as a standalone exe. Each piano roll can be used as a normal piano roll, to send midi data to its connected plugin/s, but it can also act as an arpeggio/scale/chord arranger.External midi controllers can be connected to the host, allowing you to trigger notes or automation data in real-time.The host is still in beta, and the release date is yet to be announced.
It will be free upon release.
Is anyone on windows beta testing this one?It looks like anyone can test it.I downloaded the.exe and tried to wrap it with wine but it seemed like it got stuck half way through the process and I only got as far as to open the GUI on my Mac.I am curious if you can run the Mini Host inside Maschine as a plug in that way we could drop a Chord or Arp plugin before the VST instrument on a Maschine channel and run MIDI effects inside maschine with out the use of an extra Maschine sound and MIDI routing.Someone on windows try this out and let us know!! I got the exe. If you need it its free to the public I think its just a demo though.or even if someone can use wine bottler and get it running on OSX and post it.
Potential benefits of MiniHost: Frequency Split - Sidechain made easy w/ Vocoders and midi based effect plugins - smooth automation (no step automation) - synth layering - arps/step sequencers - complex effect chains (no more effects running in series) - keyboard splits. NI should have already gone modular with Guitar Rig and Maschine's built in effects. If Guitar Rig was made to freely run it's effects individually, that would be great use of a modular system. Maschine also could use a modular setup where's it's effects can be freely placed and you can be given a container that controls parameter(s) freely to whatever you assign to it (like Guitar Rig container). I guess standalone users would love MiniHost. It should compliment Maschine's 'DAW' potential. Hope, more DAWs go modular instead of the traditional emulation of hardware setups.
I mean it's software, it should be a creative playground instead of assimilation.
